Man attempts kidnap of two children in broad daylight in Spain’s Mallorca

Montuiri mallorca

A MAN has reportedly attempted to kidnap two children who were walking home from school in Mallorca.

The parents of the siblings, a 10-year-old girl and seven-year-old boy, reported the attempted abduction to police yesterday.

According to the Guardia Civil, a middle-aged man approached the youngsters in Montuiri.

The man had pulled his vehicle up beside the pair and demanded that the children get inside his car.

The siblings refused and ran away.

Once at home they told their parents who in turn notified the police.

The suspect has been described as a black male and middle-aged.

He was driving a grey Renault C3 at the time of the incident and was smoking a cigar.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.

It comes just a week after a man attempted to kidnap a child, 9, outside of an English academy.

The suspect had approached the young girl as she was waiting to be picked by her grandmother at the school in Santa Maria.

The man had told the child that her father had sent him to collect her and that she should follow him to his vehicle where he would then take her home.

This individual has not been located and has been described as a Spanish man, between 40 and 50 years old and with a beard.

He was driving a small white van at the time of the incident.
