POLICE in Mallorca are looking for the driver behind a fatal hit and run which took place in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred at around 4am on the Manacor highway.
The victim, 55 and originally from the Czech Republic, was found by a motorist lying unconscious on the side of the road beside his car.
Paramedics had attempted to resuscitate the man but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
All indications point to the man being hit by a car while he was attending to his vehicle.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact the authorities.
It comes after a manhunt was launched after a well-known cyclist was killed in a hit and run on the Costa del Sol.
Mario Zumaquero, 44, died while training, following a collision with his bike and a car on the AP-7 in Estepona.
After a plea was posted across social media to identify the driver of a white Mercedes vehicle, officers from the Guardia Civil tracked down the wanted man to a property close to where the incident occurred.
