A THREE-year-old child has died from meningitis in Malaga.

The young boy succumbed to the disease in Archidona, with residents said to be devastated.

Everyone who has been in contact with the child in recent days has been treated in a bid to curb the infection spreading.

Thus, they have told Europa Press that, as usual in cases of this type, the protocol predetermined by the medical authorities has been activated. In this sense, chemoprophylaxis has been provided to people closest to the child to avoid further infections.

The child was a student of the School of Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP) Virgen de Gracia.
