Watch: Streets are turned into rapids in Spain after end-of-summer rain storms – with hail even seen in Malaga

THIS is the moment streets were turned into rapids in Spain following end-of-summer storms on Thursday.

Videos shared on X showed cars being carried away in central and north-east areas after hours of rainfall fell across much of the country.

Dozens of provinces had been placed on yellow and orange alerts by weather agency Aemet, warning of storms, rain and even hail.

In Zaragoza, cars and bin containers could be seen being dragged by muddy water after a river burst its banks.

Clips also showed the streets being flooded in Teruel, after the heavens opened from around 2am yesterday.

Both areas also bore witness to giant balls of hail, which were even seen in the south, specifically in Granada and Malaga, both in the southernmost region of Andalucia.
