Malaga airport braces for final weekend of August as thousands of Brits prepare to fly home – this will be the busiest day

MALAGA airport is facing an extra busy weekend from today as thousands of Brits and other tourists prepare to fly home.

With school set to start next week, scores of families will be heading back over the last few days of August.

Between Friday and Sunday, there will be a total of 1,703 flights, reports Malaga Hoy.

The majority of these (1,386), will be international services, while the rest (317), will be domestic flights.

The busiest day is expected to be Sunday, the first day of September, when a total of 586 flights are scheduled.

Most of Sunday’s flights (472) are on international routes, while the remaining 114 are national.

Saturday, meanwhile, will see 563 flights, of which 481 will be international, while Friday will count 554 flights (433 international).

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their departure time.
