THE BODY of a clothed man was discovered on a Costa del Sol beach on Monday evening.
A passer-by on Nerja’s Playa del Carabeillo spotted the corpse at around 9pm and notified the Andalucia 112 Emergency service.
The Guardia Civil, the Nerja Policia Local, Civil Protection officers, and paramedics went to the scene in the vicinity of the Mirador del Bendito.

The deceased man was said to be in his fifties and was lying next to the stair access to the beach.
All the initial indications were that he had drowned.
No further information was released by authorities about his identity or the circumstances in which the death occurred.
His body was taken to Burriana for an autopsy.
