Police sources told Europa Press that his vehicle was discovered in a ditch at around 9.30pm on Saturday night.

The body of James, who suffered from mental illnesses, was found inside the car.

He is believed to have crashed at around 8.30am on the day he was last seen alive.

The ditch is located on a stretch of road close to the village where James was living.

The town hall of El Castillo de la Guardas expressed its condolences to the expat’s friends and family.

It thanked ‘everyone who has been involved in sharing information on social media and taking part in the search.’
