Watch: Hair-raising moment tourist in Spain gets an octopus stuck to his back after night-time swim in the sea

THIS is the moment a tourist in Spain was left with an octopus on his back after a night-time dip in the sea.

Footage shared on TikTok shows the Spaniard getting back on the boat with the creature stuck on his shoulder blade.

His friends can be seen trying in vain to pull the animal off of him before he finally manages to remove it himself by reaching over his shoulder.

He can be heard saying ‘get it off me’ in Spanish throughout the short-lived ordeal.

It is not clear what coast the friends had been swimming off although such encounters in Spanish waters are rare.

The octopus nor the swimmer were harmed by the incident and the former was immediately returned to the water.

Octopi are not aggressive by nature but can attack if they feel threatened.

Fortunately, Spain is not home to more dangerous specimens, such as the blue ring octopus, whose poisonous bite can prove fatal.
