Mocejon stabbing: Police in Spain hunt ‘white teenager’ suspected of slaying boy, 11, during a football match – as survivors recall horror attack

Scene of fatal stabbing of little Mateo in Toledo

A DESPERATE manhunt is underway following the horrific fatal stabbing of an 11-year-old boy in Toledo.

Little Mateo was knifed at least 11 times by a masked attacker at the Angel Tardio sports centre in Mocejon, at around 9.30am on Sunday.

According to sources quoted by El Español, the killer is slim, blonde with shaved hair, measures around 5ft2 and is aged between 15 and 17.

He is said to have been wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt, bermuda shorts and trainers. He fled the scene in a grey Ford Mondeo.

The killer hid his face with a bandana when he stormed the football game between Mateo and a group of children, all aged between 10 and 11.

One survivor said they were happily playing when the suspect ‘suddenly appeared’ while brandishing a knife.

They said he began to run towards them to try and ‘randomly grab’ one of them.

It was little Mateo who would become the victim when he fell over by the stands and was caught by the attacker.

The killer ‘did not say a word’ before or during the attack, witnesses said.

One told El Español: “The murderer did not address the children or say a word to them… he was wearing a bandana-type scarf, hiding his face from his nose down, like an American western film.

“The children all started running as soon as they saw him with a knife.”

They added: “The killer grabbed the kid who was running the least and stabbed him all over his body.”

Mateo received ‘more than three lethal stab wounds’ to vital organs.

The investigation continues.
