Sunday was a busy day for craft making the dangerous Mediterranean crossing from North Africa, with 92 migrants reaching the coast of the Balearic Islands in five boats.

Two each landed in Mallorca and Formentera, with a fifth in Ibiza.

The first of the latest Costa Blanca arrivals were at Poble Nou de Benitatxell around 10pm on Sunday.

14 people were treated and were all healthy including two children aged 16 and 13.

Shortly after, in Cao de Las Huertas, six other people were found in a craft and attended to during the early hours of Monday morning (including a pregnant woman and a two-year-old baby).

Assistance provided to them ended at around 3am and everybody was deemed to be in a good state of health.

Finally, the third boat was intercepted off Albir at around 2am and the 15 occupants were transferred to Alicante to get assistance from the Cruz Roja.

They were all healthy including a man in a wheelchair who suffered with reduced mobility.
