Severe heat alerts are sent to mobile phones across Spain’s Andalucia ahead of 40C temperatures

MOBILE phone users across Andalucia were last night sent an alert for extreme temperatures today.

The warning was sent by state weather agency Aemet, warning of heat of a ‘severe’ nature in Sevilla, Cadiz, Jaen and Cordoba.

All four regions are on a yellow-level warning for heat today, with the mercury to reach 40C or even higher locally.

But things will get even hotter on Sunday, when more provinces will be placed under alert.

Tomorrow, Sevilla, Cordoba and Huelva will be on an orange-level alert, with temperatures to exceed 40C.

Meanwhile the entire Malaga province, including the Costa del Sol and Ronda, will be on a yellow alert, with temperatures reaching 37C.
