Horror in Spain after 90-year-old woman has her throat slit by ‘drug addict’ inside her home: Police make one arrest

A 90-YEAR-OLD woman has died in southern Spain after having her throat slit inside her own home.

Police arrested a 52-year-old man on Thursday following the shocking incident in the small town of Puente Tocinos, in Murcia.

The grandmother is believed to have been attacked during a fight between an attacker and her grandson.

According to reports in local press, an argument broke out between the men, and when it became physical, the grandson fled to his grandmother’s house.

However the alleged attacker, who is reported to suffer from ‘addiction problems’, followed him there to confront him.

It was then that the fight escalated, before the grandmother was stabbed in the neck while allegedly trying to protect her grandson.

It has not been confirmed if the attacker was related to any of the victims. The 90-year-old woman died instantly.

A 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman had to be treated for shock.

The investigation continues.
