THREE people have been arrested for attempted murder over the stabbing of Lamine Yamal’s father.
Mounir Nasraoui was attacked in a parking lot in Mataro, Barcelona, at around 9.10pm on Wednesday evening.
He has been rushed to Hospital Can Ruti de Badalona in a serious condition, reported Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The motive for the attack remains unknown but reports suggest there may have been fight.
The regional Mossos D’Esquadra force is leading the investigation.
The attack occurred in the Rocafonda neighbourhood of Mataro, where the family of Yamal live.
The Olive Press has contacted Mossos for comment.
Lamine Yamal won fans around the world with his record-breaking performance at the Euros 2024 last month.
The then 16 year old became the youngest player to ever score at the tournament.
The Barcelona FC star went on to lift the trophy after Spain beat England in a nail-biting final.
