This city in Spain offers the best quality of life, according to new ranking

CITIES like Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, and Valencia have been beaten off by Pamplona in having the best quality of life in Spain according to a study from Madrid Capital Mundial(MWCC).

It looked at six key indicators: purchasing power and cost of living, accessibility to housing, environment, safety, health and traffic.

The northern city and capital of Navarre province- and famous for its July bull runs- came top of the standings once all the numbers had been crunched.

Pamplona stood out as the Spanish city with the highest purchasing power, which means residents enjoy a higher standard of living compared to other cities.

This is achieved due to a comparatively low cost of living which is linked to income.

For example, housing in Pamplona is more affordable than in large cities such as Madrid or Barcelona, which means residents in those centres can only spend a smaller proportion of what they earn on basic expenses.

Employment in sectors such as industry and services is robust in Pamplona, which contributes to economic stability that is also reflected in the quality of life of its citizens.

Another factor that has taken Pamplona to the top of the ‘quality of life’ list is its high perception of safety.

According to the figures, it is the third safest city in Spain, which provides residents with a sense of peace and well-being thanks to the low crime rate and effective policing.

Over healthcare, although Pamplona does not rank first, its health system is highly valued, with well-equipped and accessible hospitals and health centres.

Palma, Oviedo and Cartagena lead in that category, but Pamplona is not far behind, with a well-regarded health care network that contributes to the quality of life for its citizens.

The MWCC survey therefore concludes that Pamplona is an ideal choice for people looking for a high quality of life in Spain.
