THE Policia Nacional have revealed that a Dutch tourist died at a Mallorca villa from carbon monoxide due to a bird’s nest blocking a pipe.
The 21-year-old man passed away on July 30 with all of the initial indications that the lethal gas could have seeped out due to a leaking boiler.
A group of 11 Dutch holidaymakers were staying at the Playa de Palma property and occupied several rooms.

Two of the tourists slept in a room next to a butano gas heater.
One of them woke up with severe headaches and found his friend lying on the floor, believing at first he was still asleep but then realised that he was not breathing.
Paramedics could not revive him and the man suffering from headaches was taken for hospital and treated in a hyperbaric chamber.
The Policia Nacional interviewed a maintenance company that manages the property and said it knew nothing about gas problems and that the boiler was serviced at regular intervals.
A gas evacuation pipe was looked at and had been obstructed by birds leaving leaves, grass, and straw to make a nest.
This stopped the gases from the boiler being taken outside, causing a lethal accumulation of carbon monoxide in the boiler room and adjoining rooms.
