British band Clean Bandit are robbed of €40,000 in Spain’s Ibiza after thieves broke into their hotel room

BRITISH chart-topping band Clean Bandit were robbed of equipment and cash totalling €40,000 on Ibiza last weekend.

The trio known for number one UK hits like Rockabye and Symphony were on the island to shoot a video with DJ David Guetta for their new single Cry Baby.

The trip however took an unwanted turn when they returned to their hotel after going out for dinner, and discovered somebody had broken in and stole cameras, laptops, and money.

Band member Grace Chatto said they were shooting scenes for the video with David Guetta in a studio before spending the night at a friend’s house.

The other members of Clean Bandit, Jack and Luke Patterson, had flown back to London to edit the footage, but when Grace returned to her hotel to look for the cameras, she realised she had been robbed.

Despite being understandably ‘afraid’ of sleeping in the hotel after the robbery, Grace said ‘the most important thing was that the video material was safe’.

“The footage would have been irreplaceable,” she added.

In terms of money, the group is hoping to claim the €40,000 through their insurance company.

Clean Bandit will be releasing their first album in six years in 2025.

Their unique fusion of pop and classical music burst on the music scene over a decade ago.

Their first UK number one was Rather Be in 2014 with vocals from Jess Glynne.

The song also went to number 10 in the US charts.
