EXCLUSIVE: British Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson visits Spain’s Marbella after stunning 800m victory in Paris

KEELY Hodgkinson has been spotted on the Costa del Sol following her stunning gold medal victory in Paris.

The 22-year-old is in Marbella just days after becoming the third British woman to ever win the 800m running event at the Olympic Games.

In photos shared online, Hodgkinson can be seen posing for a picture in front of a yacht in Puerto Banus.

A source told the Olive Press: “Keely is here with her family after her incredible win in Paris.

“They’re here for a week and are looking forward to a really fun holiday to celebrate her gold medal.

“They took a luxury boat out for a ride from Puerto Banus and couldn’t wait to try out some jet skiing.”

Ian Radford, owner of La Sala, told the Olive Press: “When we found out that such an amazing athlete was here, we made sure to deck the boat out and to include a special message.

“She’s an incredible young woman and brilliant athlete and we’re so proud of her and very pleased to have her in Marbella.”

The boat was organised by La Sala Lifestyle, part of the successful La Sala Group.

A banner hung up in the yacht reads: “Congratulations on your gold medal Keely Hodgkinson.”

In a post the company said: “What a pleasure to have 800m Olympic Gold Medalist @keely.hodgkinson celebrating her win on the @lasalalifestyle Yacht today!

“Thank you for joining us, we can’t wait to welcome you at @clubhousemarbella.”

Hodgkinson comfortably won the women’s 800m final on Tuesday to claim the first Olympic gold medal of her career.

She kept her rivals just behind her shoulder throughout much of the race before breaking away in the final 100m.

Her winning time was 1:56.71, almost a full second ahead of runner up Tsige Duguma, from Ethiopia. Kenya’s Mary Moraa won bronze.
