A NIGHTCLUB bouncer from Gran Canaria has been arrested and jailed after being charged with the death of a 35-year-old British tourist on July 24.
An investigating judge ordered the employee, 47, to be remanded in pre-trial custody as he was deemed a flight risk.
He’s accused of homicide after the Brit was said to be misbehaving at the Discoteca Chic in Playa des Ingles.

The bouncer- with no criminal record- is accused of killing the tourist by using the ‘mataleon’ technique, where normally a person is subdued from behind with an arm going round the neck.
This manoeuvre stops the flow of blood to the brain and causes the person to faint but is life-threatening unless done by trained experts.
Eyewitnesses saw the British man in an unconscious state being thrown out of the premises by three bouncers.
Emergency services were called at around 5.30am on July 24 to say he was lying outside on the ground without any life signs.
The Policia Nacional confirmed he had died with the early indications suggesting he had suffered a heart attack after taking drugs.
Marks however were spotted on his neck and several witnesses told officers that one of the club’s employees performed the ‘mataleon’ technique on the tourist due to his behaviour.
He then collapsed with officers confirming the accounts by looking at the club’s security videos.
An autopsy report said that the British tourist had died from asphyxiation.
