Enjoy Medieval Teulada on the Costa Blanca from August 8 to 11

FROM August 8 to 11, the historic centre of Teulada will be transformed to celebrate Medieval Teulada.

With a schedule running from 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM, the market will be filled with crafts and gastronomy, featuring themed stalls and the participation of local groups such as the Fiestas dels Sants de la Pedra Committee, the Teulada Housewives, and the VIé Centenari Association.

The medieval parade, which will take place on Thursday, August 8 at 8:00 PM from Avda. Santa Catalina, will kick off the market. The festival banner, along with giants, musicians, a dancer, falconry displays, knights, and mystical characters, will lead the festive procession, which includes the Children’s Festival Committee and the 2024 Festival Queen and her ladies. The Association of Traginers, the Colla El Falçó, and the Coral Teuladina will also participate.

During the market days, you can find artisans working with esparto grass and wood, falconry with eagles and hawks, belly dancing with live music, mystical characters wandering around, acrobatics in the church square, and fire shows. There will also be board games and photo opportunities, and knights guarding the market will offer squire training for the youngest visitors to Medieval Teulada.

In addition, other events will be held, such as a screening of a medieval-themed film on Friday, August 9 at the outdoor cinema, a concert by the Coral Teuladina on the opening day, a museum exhibition on Saint Vincent Ferrer, and a performance by the Grup de Danses Font Santa de Teulada on Saturday, August 10.

The Councilor for Markets, Mari Cantó, has highlighted the importance of themed markets such as the Medieval one, “as it is another meeting point for social, cultural, and commercial activities in the municipality.”

For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Rosana Caselles, has encouraged everyone to enjoy the history, music, and life that Medieval Teulada will offer during this August weekend.
