HOLLYWOOD star Zac Efron had to be rushed to hospital on the Balearic Island of Ibiza after an ‘incident’ in a swimming pool on Friday night.

That’s according to US gossip website TMZ, who was told by a representative for the star of High School Musical that the actor was taken for medical treatment as a ‘precautionary measure’ after a ‘minor swimming incident’.

Sources with direct knowledge of what happened, however, told TMZ that Efron, 36, had to be pulled out of the water by two employees at the villa after they discovered him there.

Efron’s representative did not explain to TMZ what caused him to end up in distress in the pool.

Over the last month, Efron has reportedly been travelling around Europe, also visiting St. Tropez, Mykonos and Paris before reaching Ibiza.
