TENNIS fans are salivating over a potential Olympic men’s final between Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
The Spaniard, 21, from Murcia, secured his spot in the semi-final yesterday after beating the USA’s Tommy Paul in straight sets (6-2, 7-6).
It means the Wimbledon champion is edging ever closer to an epic clash with World No.1 Djokovic – who will also play his semi-final today.
Both men will be playing on the Philippe-Chartier court at Roland Garros
Alcaraz will face Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime at 1.30pm.
Djokovic will then take on Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti at 7pm.
Djokovic is looking to win his first ever Olympic gold and to beat his best ever result at the games, which was a bronze medal in Beijing in 2008.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz is playing his first ever Olympics, but will be looking to sweep a French Open, Wimbledon and Olympics title all in one year.
