ALORA in Malaga province clocked the highest temperature in Spain on Thursday with the Aemet weather station there recording 44.3 degrees.
The figure was recorded at 4.40pm and 40 minutes later, the station at Coin was not far behind on 43.1 degrees.
Nationally, Alhama de Murcia reached 44.1 degrees followed by Jalance in the Valencian Community with 44.3 degrees.

Inland areas had the highest values around southern and eastern Spain, with Murcia, Granada, and Albacete provinces dominating the top 20 hottest list.
Malaga province had a slew of high readings after yellow and orange warnings were activated until 9pm on Thursday.
Other figures included Alpandeire with 41.4 ºC; Estepona with 40.7ºC; and Cortes de la Frontera with 40.4 ºC.
In Malaga City the airport reported 39.9ºC and the Atabal Meteorological Centre clocked 39.8 ºC.
Orange warnings for high temperatures remain in place for Friday in parts of the Axarquia, Malaga City, the Costa del Sol and the Guadalhorce Valley between 1pm and 9pm.
State forecaster Aemet says that coastal temperatures will reach around 40 degrees and go higher in inland areas once again.
