AN ITALIAN couple of social-media influencers got a nasty surprise on one of their recent trips, as they were slapped with a massive bar bill at an Ibizan beach bar for some champagne and sangria, as well as the time spent on loungers at the club.
The couple were on the Balearic Island back in May, and documented their visit on social media sites such as TikTok – including an image of what they had to cough up at the beach club.
Federica and Giuseppe, influencers known by the name My Trip to Naples (@ilmioviaggioanapoli), were visiting the Sant Josep beach club at Cala Bassa beach, according to press reports.
“Something is wrong here, because I paid more to be here for a few hours than on the flight to visit the island!” complained Giuseppe, after their day at the beach.

It should be said, however, that as well as the champagne and sangria, they also ordered fried calamari, bread with tomato, and Iberian ham – the latter widely known for coming with a hefty price tag.
They also enjoyed a paella.
In total, they spent €400: €40 for the loungers, €160 for an obligatory bottle of champagne, and then around €200 for the food.
Social media users were quick to comment on their experience, after the video racked up more than 700,000 views.
“Without a doubt that is an excessive price,” wrote one. “Spending the day in these luxury places is only with the reach of the few.”
“I spend a grand total of €0 to spend the afternoon at the beach in my city with a cooler full of food and drink,” wrote another. “And it’s a total luxury.”
If nothing, their experience serves as a lesson for anyone visiting the hugely popular Balearic Island: always check the prices before you order.
