SPAIN is a tale of two worlds today with simulatenous weather warnings in place for +40C temperatures and freak hail storms.
In Malaga on the Costa del Sol, there will be highs of 39C along seaside resorts such as Marbella, while inland areas will see the mercury surpass 40C.
However in Barcelona, the country’s most visited city, yellow and orange warnings are in place for thunderstorms, rain, hail and wind.

According to weather agency Aemet, much of the eastern corner of Spain will be hit by the freak August storms, including the whole of Barcelona, Girona and Leida.
It warned that hail is ‘likely’ and ‘could be large in size’, while warning of ‘very strong gusts of wind.’
The rainfall will also be significant with up to 20mm falling in an hour.
The bizarre weather for the second day of August is being caused by a so-called DANA weather front.
A DANA is an isolated area of high depression that is more typical in the autumn, winter or and spring months.
