Dutch tourist, 21, 'dies of carbon monoxide poisoning' in Spain's Mallorca

A DUTCH tourist has died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at his Playa de Palma rental villa.

Emergency teams arrived at the beachside property on Tuesday shortly after midday and discovered the lifeless body of the 21-year-old man.

Paramedics were unable to revive him.

Another young man who was also staying at the villa was taken to hospital after complaining of severe headaches.

He has been receiving treatment in a hyperbaric chamber.

The Policia Nacional are investigating what happened with a boiler suspected to be the cause of the gas leak.

An autopsy and a full analysis of the property will be conducted to confirm their suspicions.
