Tourists can now use UberEats on major beaches in Benidorm and Alicante

SUNBATHERS on two major Costa Blanca beaches won’t have to move far if they want food and water, or perhaps they’ve forgotten something important like sunscreen lotion.

Uber Eats has launched a service delivering products directly to the ‘towel’ during the summer holiday peak season.

Deliveries to the Benidorm’s Levante beach and Alicante’s San Juan beach have been introduced ahead of August- the busiest time for domestic holidaymakers.

Uber Eats Spanish marketing director, Ricardo Pabon, said: “We are taking a step further this summer to reach all corners of Spain.”

Bathers can order sunscreen, ice cream, food, and other products through the company’s mobile phone app.

The scheme was tried out at at Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas beach last summer where over a thousand orders were taken.

Collection points at the Levante and San Juan beaches have been introduced along with the previous one at Las Canteras.

The other new outlets are Can Pere Antoni in Mallorca, d’En Bossa in Ibiza, Port Saplatja in Valencia, La Concha in San Sebastian, Lloret de Mar beach on the Costa Brava, Villananitos in San Javier-Mar Menor, and Samil beach in Vigo.

Customers will be able to order food and other products from over 17,000 restaurants and supermarkets that work with Uber Eats.

“From today, our catalogue is available to our users on some of the most iconic beaches in Spain which means they can order almost everything without having to move from their towel,” added Pabon.
