Marbella nightclub sells €50,000 bottle of champagne to ‘very important client’

A MYSTERY customer dug deep into his pocket to pay €50,000 for a premium bottle of champagne at a Marbella nightclub and restaurant last weekend.

The big-spending visitor was part of a group of six that enjoyed the top range Dom Perignon Champagne Brut Luminous Phantom at the Momento club and restaurant.

The Methuselah-sized bottle had six litres of top quality bubbly inside- the equivalent of eight standard champagne bottles.

The Dom Perignon offering was a limited edition produced by the French winery and the most expensive bottle in Momento’s cellar.

The business team said the contents were consumed on the premises and had been specially offered to a ‘highly relevant’ customer.

The bottle had been acquired last year from Moet Hennes and Louis Vuitton.

“Although it seemed like a very difficult item to sell, we knew that this day would come,” a spokesperson said.

“We are currently looking to offer new exclusive products to surprise our customers and to replace this unique item,”

Located in the heart of Marbella’s Golden Mile, Momento opened its doors in 2018 and has achieved an international reputation for playing electronic music featuring some of the world’s top DJs.

It also provides ‘open air’ gastronomic offerings with meals served until 5am.

Momento is owned by the Marbella company Grupo Mosh which was founded in 2016 and operates five restaurants and a sixth in collaboration with Grupo Dani García, and the fashion firm Dolce & Gabbana.
