FEARS are growing for a British man who disappeared from Mallorca seven days ago.

Benjamin Ross, 26, last spoke to his mother on the phone from the Spanish island on July 10, reports Manchester Evening News, and has not been seen since.

The Brit had flown to the Balearic island in June to visit a friend and decided to extend his stay, even finding a job and securing rented accommodation.

But the former barrister-in-training, from Manchester, has not been heard from by anyone for a week.

It has since emerged that he recently has his phone, passport, keys and wallet stolen while going for a swim at a beach.

Ben’s mother, named Felix, told MEN that she had been trying to transfer him some money following the incident.

She added that he was not ‘in a good place’ and that a ‘peculiar’ email she received from him on July 10 sparked concern.

Felix has since spoken to LBT Global, the overseas charity that supported the family of Jay Slater during the weeks-long search in Tenerife – and she is preparing to fly out to Mallorca as soon as possible.

She told MEN: “Like any mother, no matter what age your children are, they are still your children. I just need to know my son is safe and well.

“The last few days have been torture. Please, if anyone has seen Ben, even if it’s just for a second, let the authorities know. We need to find him.”

A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
