Antonio Banderas demolishes his Marbella villa after it was declared illegal: Licence to build ‘La Gaviota’ was approved by the infamous Jesus Gil administration

May 21, 2024 (malaga)Antonio Banderas is outlining the latest details of the new musical he directs at the Soho Theatre in Malaga, 'Playing our song', which premieres on June 6, in August will begin rehearsals of another musical, 'Gipsy', which will premiere in October, and plans to return to Broadway in the fall of 2025. Banderas, who presented on Tuesday the renewal for three years of the sponsorship agreement of the Soho Theater by CaixaBank, has revealed in an informative breakfast that among his most immediate projects is also a film with Anthony Hopkins «probably rolled in Serbia».

MALAGA star Antonio Banderas has been ordered to demolish his Marbella villa, known as ‘La Gaviota’, after it was declared illegal.

Years of legal battles have led to defeat for Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas, as his Marbella mansion has been demolished.

The villa was first declared illegal in 2003 after it was found the licence granted by the infamous Jesus Gil administration ‘invaded natural land’.

Banderas fought back against the ruling and in 2013, he reached an agreement leading him to give up 1.2 metres of land at the side of the property to avoid its demolition.

Then, in 2015, that ruling was cancelled and Spain’s Supreme Court declared the building illegal.

This led to a series of legal disputes leading to its demolition.

The actor spent much of the Covid-19 pandemic in the building as well as long stays with his current partner, Nicole Kimpel.
