A BRITISH tourist enjoying a drink at a popular Mallorca bar required stitches after she was bit on a chin by a border collie dog.
The victim named as Geraldine was on the terrace of the Red Rum British Pub on Calle Camp de Mar in Port d’Alcudia when her table was approached by the border collie.
She showed affection to the dog but he responded by biting her chin, resulting in two wounds.

Geraldine cried for help as she bled profusely, but the dog’s female owner- accompanied by two young children- fled rather than offering assistance.
The Alcudia Policia Local went to the bar to help Geraldine who is on holiday in the area until Saturday.
She was taken to a local medical centre where doctors gave her several stitches.
The tourist then filed a complaint about the incident and after taking witness statements, the Policia Local and Guardia Civil are looking for the dog owner.
The theory is that the owner is a local resident and faces being charged with a crime of reckless injury.
It also could be that she fled because the border collie was not registered and micro-chipped and did not have the appropriate level of vaccination.
