BRITISH star Jude Bellingham scored a last-minute winner as Real Madrid beat arch rivals Barcelona 3-2 in a star-studded rendition of El Clasico.
The England international, who also scored a stoppage-time winner in this season’s reverse fixture at Montjuic, sent the Estadio Bernabeu into rafters with a goal which puts Real 11 points clear at the top of the La Liga table with just six games remaining.
Goals from Vinicius Junior and Lucas Vazques helped Los Blancos come from behind twice before Bellingham’s goal in the first minute of additional time secured the three points.
Barcelona were left fuming after being denied a goal they thought crossed the line – La Liga is the only major league in Europe not to have goal-line technology because Javier Tebas, the league’s controversial president, refused to pay the €3million fee required to implement the system.
Over 80,000 spectators packed into the newly-renovated Estadio Bernabeu in Spain’s capital to watch the match, including a host of famous faces.
Novak Djokovic, the tennis World No.1, Tom Brady, the legendary NFL quarterback, and Andy Garcia, star of films such as The Godfather Part III, Ocean’s Eleven and The Untouchables, watched the derby together from the comfort of hospitality.
Meanwhile, Djokovic’s nemesis, Spanish No.1 Carlos Alcaraz, was also in attendance to cheer on his beloved Real.
