ANDALUCIA has received a total of 30.8 million tourists in 2022, just 5% shy of the record-breaking, pre-pandemic year, 2019.
Not only that, 2023 promises to be a new record-breaking year with optimistic figures pointing at an influx of 33 million tourists to southern Spain throughout this year.
The optimistic data was given by Junta Chief, Juan Marin, yesterday, Wednesday, January 18, during the inauguration of the Andalusian pavilion at Fitur 2023, Spain’s big International Tourism Fair.
According to Moreno, ‘2022 has been the year of recovery and 2023 will be a record year for Andalucian tourism.’
Based on the recent numbers, which have tallied 30.8 million tourists in 2022, Moreno believes that between 32.7 and 33 million tourists will pass through Spain’s most southern region this year, 2023.
“I invite the world to come to the south of the south,” he said.
The Andalusian president inaugurated the Andalusian pavilion together with Their Majesties King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia.
