Floods Hit Parts Of Spain S Costa Blanca As Storms Lash The Region

HEAVY rain and strong winds have swept across the northern Costa Blanca with Javea bearing the brunt.

Rainfall levels accumulated to 200 litres per square metre over the last 24 hours around the municipality with roads blocked by floods and fallen trees.

Some families were evacuated overnight from their homes as a precaution.

Javea’s Policia Local enforced temporary road closures but nearly all routes have now reopened.

Forecasters say that the remainder of Thursday(November 5) will see a mixture of cloud and heavy localised showers in the north of Alicante Province.
