UNDERCOVER police have been shutting down day parties at beach clubs along Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Party-goers discovered at La Plage Casanis were told to head home by authorities on Sunday.

The popular beach club hosts an annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party each year, but with tighter coronavirus restrictions the event was cut short.

Taking place on November 1, the celebration was meant to be the season closing party for the venue.

However, it became clear the party was well and truly over when police told attendees to leave long before the 11pm curfew.

“I’m fuming,” one guest told the Olive Press. “There are undercover police everywhere.”

It comes after Andalucia president Juanma Moreno said on Canal Sur: “I am asking citizens to please stay at home or within your bubbles…let’s avoid unnecessary meetups and take it seriously.”

His message was particularly aimed at young people seeking to continue with their social lives as normal.

“People of all ages are dying,” he warned.
