Police Follow Their Nose In Massive Marijuana Raid On Farm Adjoining British Area Of Spain S Costa Blanca

A STENCH of marijuana led a routine police patrol to stumble upon a massive drugs farm in the Pilar de la Horadada area of the southern Costa Blanca.

Over 5,000 marijuana plants and 32 kilos of the drug crammed into plastic bags were seized.

Policia Local agents were driving through the Pinar de Campoverde urbanisation on Saturday(October 31) which is a popular home for British expats and other foreign nationals.

Their noses twitched when they picked up a strong marijuana aroma wafting out of an old farm greenhouse.

The building was right next to the busy CV-925 road close to the Lo Romero golf course.

The two agents went in and found a group of at least four men enjoying a meal break inside the indoor marijuana farm.

They ran off down an exit road that had been specially prepared in case of an emergency, leaving the agents to take the enormity of their drugs bust.
