Alicante Drugs In Plants

ALICANTE Guardia Civil recently arrested drug traffickers with 100Kg of marijuana, bringing the total seized to 98,700 kilos.

At nearly 100 tonnes, that’s the equivalent of SEVEN London double-decker buses.

DISGUISED: Cannabis labelled as ‘plants’

The stash was heading from Alicante to Leida, west of Barcelona, when officers pulled the vehicle over on the A-31 for ‘traffic infractions’ and discovered the haul labelled only as ‘flowers’.

Two men were arrested and investigations are ongoing with another pair.

Police authorities analysed the ‘flowers’, and results confirmed that the substance was cannabis.

Following the August arrests, the Leida company that received and repackaged the drugs for distribution was traced and two more were arrested.
