People Living On Spain S Costa Blanca Can Get Up To 70 Per Cent Off A Local Holiday

HOLIDAY discounts of up to 70 per cent for Valencian Community residents will be available from tomorrow(October 20).

The Viatgem voucher scheme aims to boost domestic tourism as the sector continues to suffer due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A €14.3 million budget is promising a maximum payout of €600 depending on how much a holiday costs.

Users will have a minimum stay of two nights anywhere at participating scheme members in the Community, including the Costa Blanca.

A website for applications, bonoviajecv.gva.es launches from noon this Tuesday.

Applicants can then get hold of the voucher which has to be used within seven days before it expires.

The web portal also features a list of tourist accommodation and agencies that are involved in the Viatgem scheme.

Vouchers can also be obtained directly from agencies without going online, but applicants will still have to show that they are legal Valencian Community residents.

The discounts can be reserved once per person over three separate periods, namely October 20 to December 31;  between Januaary 1 to March 24, 2021;  and October 13 to December 31, 2021.

In other words, three subsidised holidays are available over a 14-month period to Valencian Community residents.

The budget for the scheme is fixed over the three blocks.

If demand is high, applicants face going onto a waiting list and may also have their submission delayed automatically until the next period.

Benidorm businesses launched their own voucher scheme in early October which is available to tourists from any location.
