Earthquake wakes up residents on Spain’s Costa del Sol – did you feel it?

RESIDENTS on the Costa del Sol were woken up by an earthquake in the early hours of this morning.

The 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck at 2.58am in the Cadiz town of Ubrique, according to the National Geographic Institute.

Shaking was felt in Cadiz, Sevilla and Malaga, including along the costa in Marbella, Estepona and Benaojan.

No injuries or material damage were caused, according to the 112 emergency service.

It came after a previous quake yesterday with the same epicentre, recording a 3.1 magnitude, was felt in Ronda.

Both were only around 10km deep, allowing for it to felt by residents.

Social media was awash with people asking if anyone else had felt the rumbling.

“Did anyone else feel the earthquake in Malaga? So scary,” wrote one.

“Oh my god, and now an earthquake in Malaga, I think it lasted for about four seconds or so,” said another.
