Man jailed for 54 years for trying to kill stepdaughter and five others in Valencia house fire in Spain

A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy suffered 50 per cent burns after an angry father set fire to a Valencia City house.

The man took the drastic action because his daughter was living with her boyfriend at the address, and he disapproved of the relationship.

The fire started at around 3.40am this Wednesday(October 14) at an apartment on Calle Pescadores in the Cabanyal area of the city.

The occupants were trapped by the flames and a ladder was used to rescue two of them who were crying out for help from a balcony.

Medics said that the six-year-old boy suffered severe burns to his hands and face, and was rushed by the Policia Local to the University Clinical Hospital.

A 48-year-old man and 53-year-old man suffered second and third degree burns and were taken to La Fe Hospital.
