Bungling Burglar Rescued By Guardia Civil After Leg Injury On Spain S Costa Blanca

A HOTEL employee has been arrested for allegedly drugging and raping a woman in Mallorca.

The detainee, 55 and of Moldovan nationality, has been accused of spiking a woman’s drink and sexually abusing her at a hotel in Capdepera.

The victim, 31, claims that she was invited to spend a day with the hotel worker who she had met on a previous occasion.

Investigators say that it was here that she was given an alcoholic drink which caused her to black out.

She woke up several hours later completely naked with the man forcing her to perform a sexual act on him.

The woman also believed that she had been penetrated against her will.

She proceeded to report the alleged rape at the police station where she was taken to Manacor hospital for analysis.

Doctors confirmed that she had benzodiazepine in her blood system, a drug known to have sedative effects.

Further results of the examination have not yet been disclosed.

The hotel employee was subsequently located and taken to the Guardia Civil headquarters for questioning.

He denied having any type of sexual relationship with the victim, providing a conflicting statement to officers.

According to his version of events, the woman had come to the hotel to watch him perform in a show.

When it was finished he enjoyed drinks with the victim on the hotel’s terrace alongside several other people.

All of the drinks he claimed were served by waiters at the bar.

Once the terrace closed, the man invited the woman to his room where they continued drinking.

He admitted to asking the victim to sleep with him but that she refused and left the room a short time later.

The accused has since been released on bail on the orders of the investigating judge.

He has however had his passport confiscated and been ordered to appear in court every 15 days.

It comes as a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a group of men and teenagers in Valencia.

Guardia Civil arrested a total of 10 suspects involved in the case in the town of l’Olleria last week.

Investigators believe that five of the suspects attacked the minor after plying her with alcohol and drugs.
