British Fugitive Leaps Off Benidorm Hotel Balcony In Escape Bid On Spain  S Costa Blanca

A BRITISH fugitive tried to escape the clutches of the Policia Nacional by jumping off the balcony of his Benidorm hotel room.

The unnamed 32-year-old man had skipped British justice where he was wanted for trial on drug trafficking and money laundering charges.

The man faces a 14-year prison sentence if convicted.

The Policia Nacional were tipped off that he was hiding out in Benidorm and he leapt off the balcony as they knocked on his hotel door.

Agents though had formed a cordon around the building and he was arrested in the street.

The man is now in the custody of the National Court while his extradition to the UK is processed.
