Man shot in the back of the head while driving in Spain’s Malaga

police

POLICIA Nacional have opened an investigation into the shooting of a man in the back of his head while he was driving.

The victim, in his 30s, is still in hospital after miraculously surviving. Doctors say he is not in a critical condition and is expected to recover.

The incident occurred this Monday around midday in Calle Tormes, situated in the district of Bailen-Miraflores, in Malaga.

Police said the victim was driving his car when someone opened fire and shot him in the back of the head.

No arrests have been made so far and the investigation is continuing to try and shed light on what happened. The inicial hypothesis is that it is a settling of scores.

This isn’t the first time Malaga City has made the news for similar incidents.

Just last month, Policia Nacional opened a probe into a firearm incident in Las Flores, a nearby district.

On that occasion, neighbours had reported shooting in the area.

No one was found when officers arrived, though they located two cartridges that could have been related to the shots fired.

In May, the same neighbourhood witnessed another shooting which led to two arrests.
