ANDALUCIA has recorded its lowest Monday COVID-19 case count in over a month after registering 571 cases today.

The first day of the week typically registers much fewer cases due to a lag in updating numbers over the weekend, however today has seen the lowest Monday figure since August 24, when there were 561 cases confirmed by PCR.

Sevilla continues to be the province clocking the highest number of cases, registering 110 in the past 24 hours.

It is followed by Granada with 107, Malaga with 95, Jaen 90, Almeria 83, Cadiz 54, Cordoba 22 and Huelva with 10.

Sevilla has also seen the most deaths over the same period, counting nine, followed by Malaga with three, Almeria with two and both Cadiz and Cordoba with one.

It means a total of 16 people have died in Andalucia with coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

There continues to be more than 1,000 people hospitalised with the virus in the region, with the figure standing at 1,024 on Monday after adding 26 patients.

It is 41 patients fewer than a week ago while 147 of them are in intensive care units (six less than a week ago).
