Spain registers 11,325 COVID-19 cases Friday and 113 deaths

SPAIN has registered 11,325 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Health, 3,772 of these were detected in the past 24 hours.

It is a jump from the 9,419 cases declared on Thursday and brings the total number of infections detected by PCR since the start of the pandemic to 789,932.

Of the 11,325 new positives, 2,536 correspond to Madrid, accounting for 22.39% of the new cases.

On Wednesday the central region accounted 43% of cases and on Thursday 35%.

Meanwhile, nationwide there have been 113 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours.

It brings the total death toll since the start of the pandemic to 32,086.

In the past seven days, some 2,379 people have been hospitalised with the disease, of whom 178 are in intensive care units.
