The Jolly Bar in Quesada, Alicante has raised a gigantic €1300 for charity.
Serving coffee and cake to expats and regulars the business will now donate the proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.
“The total could yet rise,” said one organiser John Mugglestone. “It’s been a great effort by a small community pub.”
Taking place on September 25, the event was part of the Macmillan Coffee Morning campaign.
With more than £27.5m raised in 2019, the annual fundraising campaign has been dubbed the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
Launched in 1990, Coffee Morning began with the simple idea that punters would get a cup of tea and a cake and donate their money to charity. Since then, the event has raised £275 million.
