Father in Spain repeatedly raped and impregnated own 12-year-old daughter while mother and baby son slept in another room

Policia Nacional

A FATHER who repeatedly raped his young daughter until she became pregnant has been sentenced to 12 years in jail.

The Sevilla man accepted the prosecutor’s sentencing on Tuesday, which also included eight years of probation upon release, the loss of parental rights over the girl and his son and a ban on contacting or coming within 400 metres of his daughter for 15 years.

But following requests from the family, the restraining order has now been extended to 1,000 metres.

The unnamed paedophile must also pay a total of €80,000 in damages to the mother and daughter.

During the trial the man admitted the charges against him, meaning only his statement, that of the victim and the DNA analysis were produced in court.

His admission of guilt also saw a reduction in sentence from the usual 15 to 18 years to 12 years.

The father began raping his daughter when she was 12 and did not stop until October 3 2019, when, at 13, she was rushed to the medical centre with severe abdominal pain.

A paediatrician soon discovered that the girl was 21 weeks pregnant.

The girl reported how her father abused her, but her mother rejected her claims and said she had a ‘wild imagination’, according to the Policia Nacional arrest report.

It led to the mother also being investigated, but that line of inquiry was quickly dropped.

The victim decided to end the pregnancy and a DNA test revealed her father was the man who had impregnated her.

He admitted to raping his daughter in the living room of the family home, in the Pino Montano neighbourhood of Sevilla.

He would abuse her while the mother and his other child, a one-year-old boy, were taking a nap in the other room.

The teenage girl has a lower-than-average intelligence level which made her more vulnerable to predators like her father, prosecutors said.
