Boy, 12, fighting for life against COVID-19 in Spain despite no previous health conditions

Breaking

A 12-YEAR-old boy is in a critical condition after becoming infected with COVID-19.

The child has been transferred from the Arnau de VIlanova hospital in Lleida to the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona.

Sources from the latter told Efe that the boy had no previous or underlying health conditions that would make him more susceptible to coronavirus.

He remains in a serious condition in Barcelona.

It is not the first time the renowned hospital has had children infected with the virus flown in for treatment.

Last week an 11-year-old girl with COVID-19 was transferred from Palma de Mallorca.

The girl had been admitted to the Hospital de Son Espases for several days after having tested positive for coronavirus and was transferred by the Aeroevacuation Medical Unit (UMAER), of the Air Force, after experiencing complications from a myocardial infection.

She was admitted in a serious condition but her current status is not known.
