A PREGNANT woman has been injured after her car was hit by an SUV stashed with drugs this morning.

The SUV had been fleeing Policia Nacional in Estepona when it collided with the woman’s vehicle.

A cyclist was also injured in the accident, which occurred next to the Costalita urbanisation and metres from the Villa Padierna racquet club.

There had initially been two suspicious SUVs spotted by police this morning, but the other was able to escape.

The pregnant woman is reported to be in her 30s and the seriousness of her injuries are not known.

It comes after another drug-stashed vehicle smashed into another car in Cadiz after skipping a stop sign this week.

This month has seen an explosion in similar cases, including drug traffickers ramming into police cars in a bid to escape.

One officer lost his arm when a stolen BMW X5 filled with drugs attempted to smash his car off the road during a high speed chase in Algeciras.

That officer is still in recovery and joins a list of 12 agents who have been injured by drug traffickers in recent weeks.

At the beginning of the month, three Guardia Civil agents were rushed to hospital after being shot during a stand off with traffickers in Cadiz.
