Benidorm mother abandons teenage son at northern Spain bar and drives 150 kilometres to Bilbao

Benidorm Mother Abandons Teenage Son In Pamplona Bar And Drives 150 Kilometres To Bilbao In Spain

A MOTHER has been charged with child abandonment after leaving her teenage son in a Pamplona bar, while she travelled 150 kilometres to Bilbao.

The Policia Nacional described the 39-year-old woman as ‘foreign’ with an address in the Benidorm area, and that she was living illegally in Spain.

She now faces deportation from the country.

In a statement, the Policia Nacional said that the incident happened in early August when the mother and her current partner were travelling to France along with the boy.

En route they stopped at a bar in Pamplona, but the couple left the premises with the 13-year-old having to fend for himself.

Realising there was a problem, the teenager asked passers-by where he could find the local Policia Nacional headquarters and told agents what had happened.

He was taken to a juvenile centre in Navarre while a search was launched for his mother.

She was tracked down to a Bilbao address and arrested for child abandonment.

Her problems got even worse when it was discovered that she was living in Spain illegally and deportation proceedings have been launched.

The Policia Nacional have made no further comment on the status of her teenage son.
