TWO Guardia Civil officers have been injured after their car was rammed by a drug trafficker in Estepona.
The incident took place during Operation Torcal, which was tracking a high-speed boat heading to the beaches of the western Costa del Sol on September 3.
The vessel arrived on Guadalobon beach in Estepona and began loading bales of hashish onto vehicles when they were surprised by police.
Three of the suspects, two of whom were armed, were arrested on the beach while one managed to flee in an SUV.
A Guardia Civil car had blocked the road but that did not stop the suspect from attempting to ram through the vehicle at high speed.
Two officers inside the car had to be transported to hospital.
It came before a Policia Nacional officer lost his arm after his car was also struck by a fleeing drug trafficker last week.
The agent had blocked the road with his official vehicle when a stolen 4×4 filled with hashish rammed into him in an attempt to escape.
He was arrested while the agent had to be airlifted to hospital, where his arm was amputated.
